TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson seems to have nowhere to hide from the aftermath of her infamous Logies speech, she was even criticized by colleagues and former co-workers.
Channel 10 weather presenter Tim Bailey, who left the station in 2020, was especially biting and told The Project host that “Pull ya head in.”
In his tweet, he went on to say, “I know this can be difficult, because he’s a very fat head. But please give it a try.”

Wilkinson caused the trial of Bruce Lehrmann, the man accused of raping Brittany Higgins, to be postponed indefinitely after surpassing the mark in his speech while accepting the Logie on Sunday for his interview with the former Liberal employee in January 2021.
ACT Supreme Court Judge Lucy McCallum said Wilkinson’s speech “completely blurred” the line between the allegation and guilt of the alleged sexual assault in the Canberra House of Commons on March 22, 2019.

Ironically, in August 2021, Wilkinson begged “everyone to respect what’s at stake here.”
“Appointing the man on social media and issuing a lawsuit could have disastrous consequences for the outcome of any trial,” he tweeted.

Sydney Channel 10 news presenter Sandra Sully also voiced her feelings on the subject, and liked a tweet from entertainment journalist Peter Ford blowing up Wilkinson’s speech.
“Such serious consequences for Lisa Wilkinson … if only she had been hooked on silly stories like the paparazzi who chased her to Chapel St,” she posted.
Channel 7 Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr also kicked Wilkinson’s boot, saying she should have made her speech to lawyers.
‘You know, we have our own lawyers. We often consult them before putting a story on the air, “he said.
“Could it have been the case that Channel 10 lawyers should have intervened and starred in this speech?”
On Wednesday morning at Sunrise, the chairman of the Australian Bar Association, Matthew Collins, said there was a real possibility that authorities would study accusing Wilkinson of contempt of court.
“Certainly, it is possible that the authorities are looking at the speech he made in the Lodges and evaluating it compared to the standard that is applied in this branch of the law,” he said.

“That rule is, did something she did tend to interfere with the administration of justice?”
Incredibly, it has emerged that Wilkinson was warned just four days before the Lodges not to jeopardize the trial by speaking of Ms. Higgins at the event.
The court was told Wilkinson received a “clear and appropriate” warning during a pre-trial conference on June 15 that the defense could file a motion for suspension in the event of increased publicity.

At the time, he offered to read aloud his prepared Logies speech (he noted that he did not think he would win), but stopped when prosecutors said they were not “speech editors.”
Lehrmann’s lawyers said the case had been marred by Wilkinson’s statements in endorsing the credibility of Ms Higgins’ allegations and clearly represented a “foolishness in court”.
“Your Honor, this speech didn’t need to be delivered,” defense attorney Steve Whybrow said.

The Supreme Court was told Wilkinson would be called as a witness at trial.
Judge McCallum said Wilkinson’s speech about Mrs. Higgins meant saying, “Not only do I believe her, but she is brave and extraordinary and is the most important thing that has ever happened to me.”
The trial is set to begin on June 6, but has been postponed until June 27.
No new date has been set.
