The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been in Wales today with Prince George and Princess Charlotte on the third day of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration Weekend. The royal family will be meeting with some of Wales’ best-known performers ahead of the Cardiff Castle Concert, which is now open.
William and Kate and their children arrived at the castle to meet the performers and crew involved in the special platinum jubilee concert to be held at the castle grounds on Saturday afternoon.
The couple and their children watched the rehearsals and learned about some of the events taking part in the celebrations, including Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler. Last week, Bonnie was named MBE in honor of the Queen’s birthday for her services to music.
Missing was Prince Louis who stole the show when he appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with his family and queen after Thursday’s Trooping the Color ceremony.
The performances will end at 7 pm and the public will be able to see the Platinum Festival at the Palau on the giant screens of the castle grounds.

At the London ceremony, the Duke of Cambridge and his father, the Prince of Wales, will take to the stage to pay public homage to the Queen during a concert full of jubilee stars. Future kings will speak separately in honor of the monarch towards the end of the BBC outdoor show, held on Saturday evening in front of Buckingham Palace.
Diana Ross, Queen + Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys, Hans Zimmer, George Ezra and the 2022 Eurovision runner-up Sam Ryder are among the celebrities who are preparing to entertain a live crowd of 22,000 people and a television audience of millions .
It is believed that the Queen is unlikely to attend the concert, but confirmation of any move will be posted on the same day. He won’t be attending Epsom Derby Day on Saturday, but the avid racing assistant will be hooked on TV, watching developments from Windsor.
The 96-year-old queen, who has faced ongoing mobility problems, withdrew from the Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday after experiencing discomfort after two appearances on the balcony and the lighthouse lighting Thursday. Nearly 50 members of the royal family, including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, came together in honor of the absent head of state for the religious occasion.
The Duchess of Cambridge later said the Queen had enjoyed Thursday’s celebrations, but that the day had been “very tiring”. Saturday is the first birthday of Harry and Meghan’s daughter Lilibet, who traveled with the Sussex and older brother Archie for their first visit to the UK.
