Merseyside police were called to Roughwood Road, Kirkby around 2.30pm following reports of an incident. Once officers arrived at the scene, they found a man on the street with a head injury.
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital by the Northwest Ambulance Service, where he remains in stable condition. Merseyside police have sealed off Roughwood Road while investigating.
