Third quarter finished
Al Horford is provoking Boston’s attack at one end of the ground and blocking shots at the other. The veteran striker helped cut the lead back to nine before Draymond Green responded with a mid-range jump to put it up 76-65. A free kick made a 16-4 run in Boston and the Warriors are 76-66 ahead of last season.

The Celtics have increased their intensity but cannot beat the Golden State defense on a regular basis.
The Warriors went 74-57 with 2:48 at the end of the third.

“Absolutely ridiculous”
Curry just dropped a trademark long bomb from the NBA Finals logo to put it 72-50 with 6:12 for the end of the third quarter.
Udoka calls for time out, Curry’s former coach Mark Jackson commentator described the shot as “absolutely ridiculous” in a good way.

Warriors still up
It doesn’t look good for Boston. Steph Curry is left open by a three and finds the bottom of the net. Jayson Tatum is in the same situation and misses a lot. At Horford he hit a pair of three to keep the Celtics alive, but the Warriors are still 63-47.

Third quarter underway
Draymond Green opens the second half with a corner from three.

By the numbers
Key statistics for the first part
- Steph Curry and Klay Thompson have 12 points each to lead the Warriors, but Andrew Wiggins (10) and Jordan Poole (11) have also scored two figures.
- The Warriors are 21/49 from the field and shoot a little better from deep (10/23)
- Gary Payton II has a +17 in his 12:51 on the court. He seems to have defensive skills in his genes.
- Boston has turned the ball over 12 times
- Jayson Tatum has 11, Jaylen Brown has 14 and no other Celtic has scored more than two field goals or more than six.
- Derrick White (-24), Grant Williams (-23) and Payton Pritchard (-20) have more or less ugly figures on the bench

Half time
Golden State has a 54-39 lead at halftime and is just 24 minutes away from the seventh title in franchise history. That would put them in third place behind Boston and the Lakers, who have 17 each.
If the Warriors win their seventh, they will jump from Chicago, which won all six crowns in the 1990s, when a Michael Jordan guy dominated the proceedings.
Boston struggles on the offensive end again and has two quarters to produce an extraordinary comeback and force a seven-set.

Warriors on the road to war
Golden State regained momentum in the middle of the second quarter and now leads 51-33 with 2:39 at the end after a Klay Thompson cube.
Steph Curry hit a pair of three and now reaches 12 points. Udoka burns another timeout to try to break the visiting team’s mojo.
