Live updates: Stoney Lane, Yardley, closed like a burning double-decker bus

A city street has been cut in both directions after a double-decker bus caught fire. A spectacular video of the scene captured the flames leaping from the vehicle.

Thick gray columns of smoke have been seen jumping from the damaged bus on Stoney Lane, along Hob Moor Road, in Yardley this afternoon. The road has been closed to traffic since 4 p.m.

Passengers were warned of the disruption of services 11A and 11C, and bus users were warned of ten-minute delays in the area.

West Midlands Roads said: “A vehicle is on fire on Stoney Lane, just north of Hob Moor Road (Yew Tree Crossing), causing the road to close in both directions. Services 11A and 11C are deviating. “10 minute delays.”
