Eight fire engines have been set on fire in a pub open by English cricketer Stuart Broad on the Nottinghamshire-Leicestershire border. Firefighters confirmed the equipment had been set on fire at Tap & Run in Upper Broughton, co-owned by Broad, and former Nottinghamshire star and striker Harry Gurney.
A spokeswoman for the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The call time was 3.22 this morning. A two-story building, 15 meters by 30 meters, the area of the building, the fire was on the first floor and on the roof. they used two main jets and then two hose reel jets “.
The extent of the possible injuries is currently unclear. No one was believed to be in the building at the time of the fire, and a fire investigation has not yet been launched.

The pub is on the border of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, close to Melton Mowbray. Firefighters have advised the public to avoid the area if possible and have asked residents to keep their doors and windows closed if their properties are affected by the smoke.
In a tweet at 4:30 a.m. Saturday (June 11), the fire department said: “We currently have eight fire vehicles in an incident on Main Road, Upper Broughton. We urge you to avoid the area if possible and “Keep the doors and windows closed if it is affected by the smoke.”
Broad and Gurney launched the Cat and Wickets Pub Company in 2016 along with friend and experienced pub manager Dan Cramp. The pub was formerly known as The Golden Fleece, which had been closed for two years before Cat and Wickets took over. Tap & Run reopened as a gastropub in September 2018. The Cat and Wickets’ pub debut was The Three Crowns at Wymeswold, which opened in August 2016.
