Bayern Munich have made a second attempt to sign Sadio Mané, but have once again seen their efforts firmly rejected by Liverpool.

The perennial German champions are set to sign Mane, who was such a big figure for Liverpool last season, and an initial £ 25million offer was turned down over the weekend.

Bayern have returned with a new figure, amounting to £ 30 million, including add-ons, but that does not interest Liverpool.

Requirements to activate these add-ons are believed to include Bayern lifting the Champions League and Mane winning the Ballon d’Or in the next three seasons, both of which are considered unlikely by Liverpool.

Liverpool want more than £ 42.5m for Mane, 30, who will step down to replace him.

Mane has 12 months left to execute his current deal and has hinted that his future lies elsewhere.

At a press conference last week, the striker let slip that he would leave Anfield to appease fans in his homeland.

Mane dropped a bomb after the Champions League final announcing he wanted to resign

“I respect the fans and the team, but between 60 and 70 percent of Senegalese want him to leave Liverpool? .

But Sportsmail has revealed that Mané has already asked his Liverpool team-mate Thiago if he can move to Munich if he joins Bayern this summer, further questioning his future.

Bayern president Herbert Hainer spoke about the possible acquisition of Mane and told the German channel BILD: “If we really want a player, we can get him. But it has to suit us.”

Luis Diaz has fitted in well with the Reds’ left flank, but Liverpool still want to line up a striker to get in if Mané leaves.

As reported by Sportsmail on Wednesday, Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez to be the new striker to light Anfield and are ready to break their transfer record to sign him.

The Uruguayan international is one of the rising stars in world football and is also wanted by Atletico Madrid and Manchester United, but Liverpool are determined to sign Núñez with a deal that could reach £ 85 million.

Julian Ward, Liverpool’s new sporting director, has been in talks with Benfica and it is understood Núñez is keen to move to Merseyside.

If Liverpool can complete the transfer, it would be a massive statement of intent.

Núñez, who can play on both the left and middle, scored six goals in the Champions League last season, two of which reached the quarter-finals against Liverpool and made a big impression on Jurgen Klopp.

Darwin Núñez is in high demand and Liverpool are ready to break their transfer record to achieve it.
