Kaitlyn Armstrong has just been transported back to the United States and is expected to be charged with murder, which is a big shock to some in her hometown of Livonia.
Armstrong is the prime suspect in the shooting death of professional cyclist Anna Moriah Mo Wilson at an Austin home.
Last week, Armstrong was arrested in Costa Rica. Only on Saturday, she was transferred back to U.S. custody, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
“I think it’s sad that he killed a person and then escaped,” said Livonia-based John Byberg. “I don’t think it’s at all good to do that.”
The arrest took place at a hostel on Santa Teresa Beach before she was moved to Houston.
We are told that she was picked up directly at the airport and taken to the Harris County Jail.
Wilson was found dead on May 11. Texas officials issued an assassination warrant for Armstrong just eight days later.
With so many questions about why anyone wants to do this, we’ve found a background story that exposes a bit of a love triangle.
Announcements
According to an affidavit, Wilson once went out with Armstrong’s boyfriend, another cyclist named Colin Strickland.
Right now he is not said to be a suspect and has been cooperating with investigators.
“You have these crazy people out there who come here and do these things and I don’t get it. I don’t get it at all,” Byberg said.
Armstrong spent a total of 40 days fleeing.
