Liz Truss: I will put an end to “Stalinist” housing goals.

Liz Truss has pledged to eliminate “Whitehall-inspired Stalinist housing goals,” saying she would eliminate “labor approaches” in favor of tax cuts and deregulation to encourage companies to build new homes.

In an interview with The Telegraph, the foreign minister said she would offer “the biggest change in our economic policy in 30 years” to deal with decades of low growth and rising inflation.

The intervention comes as he fights Kemi Badenoch, the former equality minister, for the right-wing support of the Conservative parliamentary party.

Ms. Truss has told allies that Ms. Badenoch will be offered a prominent role in her cabinet if she wins the leadership contest.

Speaking to The Telegraph, the foreign minister only said her rivals were “incredibly talented politicians” and that she believed in “having all the players on the field”.

She said, “I want to abolish the top-down Stalinist-inspired housing goals of Whitehall. I think that’s the wrong way to generate economic growth.

“The best way to generate economic growth is from the bottom up by creating these incentives for investment through the tax system, simplifying regulations.”
