(Department of Transport)
The Bay D’Espoir Freeway has reopened to traffic in both directions after being closed for several days due to wildfires in the area.
The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture says crews are continuing to work and monitor conditions while the road is open.
They say officials may have to close the road for short periods of time and the two checkpoints will remain in place.
Drivers are asked to slow down and not stop when driving through the area.
