Mount Pearl Landwash Brewery is excited to have a major piece of local beer heritage after making the winning bid for the Fitz’s Cold Beer sign.
Landwash was the recipient of the $ 4,300 sign, all of which went to the Cancer Care Foundation.
Brewing partner and CEO Chris Conway says Fitz’s Cold Beer was a big part of the community worth keeping.
Although they have not yet decided exactly where to hang it, it will be somewhere at the box office. He says there will be an accompanying plaque to tell part of the story behind it.
Conway, meanwhile, says the poster won’t be the only provincial beer souvenir to be displayed at the location.
Although they don’t have any other pieces yet, they are working with Admiralty House on a small exhibit in the hallway.
Conway says there are a lot of interesting pieces out there, pointing out some of the things from his own personal collection.
He says there are things like bottles and signs that go “very deep” culturally.
