A Newfoundlander living in Toronto will be among Jeopardy contestants! at the end of this month.
Mount Pearl’s Peggy Gibbons has been living in Toronto for the past 21 years, but returns home at least twice a year and still considers Newfoundland her home.
Gibbons says that after three auditions, he finally got the call from Jeopardy! producers in the spring, fulfilling a lifelong dream he had had to compete in the show.
She calls the whole experience “surreal.”
Gibbons says former host Alex Trebek’s presence was felt throughout the set, and the crew that frequently mentions him fondly remembers him. Gibbons says one of the highlights of participating in the show was meeting host Mayim Bialik.
“She was lovely,” says Gibbons, “she’s so interested she loves being there.”
Gibbons’ appearance will air on Wednesday, June 15th.
