Teams were working to contain a forest fire in the southern area of Concepción Bay on the Avalon Peninsula on Sunday afternoon.
A water bomber has been passing by and pouring water on the fire in the area of the Lawrence Pond and Kelligrews subdivision.
VOCM began receiving calls, photos and videos of smoke coming out of the area shortly after 1 p.m.
Recent reports suggest that teams have managed to control the fire.

Meanwhile, the city of Holyrood has canceled the fireworks this evening associated with Squidfest due to the hot, windy and dry conditions.
In contrast, the ongoing fire ban and the high fire rating index will cause the fireworks to be temporarily postponed until the RibFest on August 6th.
