Lori Harvey was unprepared to take the next steps with Michael B. Jordan, according to a source close to Harvey.
Over the weekend, PEOPLE broke exclusively that the couple had separated after more than a year together. A source close to the model and influencer now tells PEOPLE that Harvey “was not ready to commit.”
“She is very focused on her career,” added the source of the founder and CEO of SKN by LH.
According to inside information, Harvey, 25, “realized they weren’t on the same page” while she and Jordan, 35, “were making plans for their future.”
“He still wants to have fun and be free,” the source says. “Michael is a great guy. He’s sad because their relationship didn’t work out, but he’s moving on.”

A source close to the couple confirmed to PEOPLE on Saturday that they had left him after leaving for a year and a half.
“Michael and Lori have a broken heart,” the source said. “They still love each other.”

“Michael matured a lot throughout their relationship and was willing to commit to the long term. He lowered his guard with her, opening up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time,” the source added. “They had a great time together and got the best out of each other.”
Jordan and Harvey’s representatives have not commented.

Jordan and Harvey previously attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2022 in Beverly Hills, California on March 27, which marked their debut on the red carpet.
Harvey, Steve Harvey’s daughter, attended the Cannes Film Festival last month, appearing solo on the red carpet for the Final Cut (Coupez!) Screening. Rumors of problems between the two have been circulating in recent weeks after she returned from France.
The couple had celebrated their first birthday in November 2021, months after actor Journal for Jordan made their Instagram relationship official that January.
He told The Hollywood Reporter in December 2021 that he “finally found what love was” in his relationship with Harvey, and explained why he felt comfortable publicly sharing his personal relationship: “When I was younger, I don’t know if I could have taken care of it. Attacking opinions and being separated, and also being aware of what the other person will go through. It takes a special person to do that.
