AFTER landing with a six-figure deal to host Love Island, it’s no surprise to learn that Laura Whitmore had quit her former job as a DJ.
I can reveal that after the current series of the ITV2 dating show ends, he will not return to his Sunday morning show on BBC Radio 5 Live.

The Laura Whitmore Show has been running for four years and during that time has helped her raise her profile, but now she wants to make the most of the goal of becoming a family name on television.
A TV informant said: “Love Island has given you a great exposure and a healthy pay package, and you will now make the most of it.
“Laura has already hinted that she has other projects underway and that she does not have time to continue with all her roles.
“So something had to go, and it’s sad for listeners that this is what has been rejected as it moves upward.”
Laura, who is married and has a daughter with Love Island narrator Iain Stirling, launched her weekly show, simply titled The Laura Whitmore Show, on Radio 5 Live in 2018.
Then, in 2020, he first presented the dating contest, which sparked jobs ranging from ads for Nintendo to becoming a captain in ITV2’s Celebrity Juice, a job he’s now lost since the program was canceled.
Last month, The Sun revealed that for 27 hours of combined Love Island footage on screen, he has only appeared for 14 minutes, although he is reportedly paid £ 600,000.
But speaking this week he said: “They see you on TV for ten minutes, but they have no idea how much work has been done on that, especially with television.
“TV is very different from radio.”
Heidi Dawson, host of BBC Radio 5 Live, said: “Laura has made the difficult decision to leave after four brilliant years.
“We would like to thank her for the energy, insight and humor she has brought to this program and look forward to working with her again in the near future.”
Hmmm, I wouldn’t hold my breath with that. . .
A WIN? YOU ARE SYRIAN
FRED SIRIEIX shouldn’t expect an invitation to Gordon Ramsay’s soon.
But apparently, the First Dates star isn’t so desperate for a visit.
The master turned Goggleboxer has stated that he was surprised that his hit TV show Gordon, Gino And Fred: Go Greek had won a Tric award for best food show.
He said: “I was very surprised, delighted and happy.
“I really don’t know how we won it because what Gordon cooked was too salty. It was too salty and Gino didn’t cook anything, he didn’t do anything!
“But I said, ‘Did we win the best meal program when everything was too salty?’
When asked if he thinks the trio should return the prize, he said:
“We won’t do that. We’ll have it, thank you very much.”
JACQUES NO TO DATES
SOME islanders are fashionable property when they leave the village of Love Island.
The distressed Jacques O’Neill has already proved popular, and Celebs Go Dating has come closer after leaving last week.

But the boy has turned down the £ 60,000 offer from E4 because he wants to wait for his village mistress, Paige Thorne.
Jacques has admitted that he has to “work on himself” after being described as a “bully” and a “gaslighter”, so he would have been an interesting candidate for agency experts Anna Williamson and Paul Brunson.
A source said: “It’s very early and bookings for Celebs Go Dating have just started.
“But an islander is always a great signing and Jacques is a real standout.”

BILLIONAIRE Blooms is back for more on Channel 4 after the Christmas special flourished.
The four-part, which will air later this year, will follow luxury florists to the super-rich as they dress up a wedding in Venice, a £ 25,000 party and fix up the homes of some Cheshire Wags.
THE REALITY OF THE SIMS FAMILY
The only way is Essex star Chloe Sims and her siblings have signed a financial agreement to do a reality show on the adult website OnlyFans.
Chloe, Frankie and Demi left the long ITVBe series last week and have set out to become the next Kardashians, for a million pounds.
The series, currently called House of Sims, is in pre-production and is slated for 2023. It will also feature the girls ’brother Charlie and his fiancée Georgia Shults.
The show, which will air on the OFTV platform, will focus on the life of the Sims in Essex and their travels in the United States, with a style of documentary series without filters.
Chloe said, “We’re all very excited and can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on. Look at this space – it’s going to be huge.”
Looks like they could give Kim and Company a chance for their money
