macOS Ventura includes the redesigned “System Settings” application

Apple today unveiled macOS Ventura, its latest operating system for Mac, and one of the new features is a redesigned and renamed system configuration application that replaces system preferences with macOS Monterey and earlier.

The new System Settings app is more like the iPhone and iPad Settings app, with the settings placed in a sidebar for easy access.

System Preferences had been the name of the app for over 20 years, but System Settings is the new name in the future. The redesigned app is limited to macOS Ventura, which will be publicly released in the fall. The first beta of macOS Ventura was sown to developers today for testing, and Apple said the first public beta will be released in July.
