Electricity has been restored to homes in Perth following a major power outage in WA that left more than 11,000 homes without electricity on Saturday shortly before noon.
Western Power reported that 25 suburbs in the metropolitan area had been affected by the huge disruption that occurred shortly before noon, but that it restored electricity to the entire house around 2 p.m.
Traffic lights in the area were also affected and drivers were advised to slow down and turn right. However, these were also restored.

This major blackout comes just days after Mark McGowan announced that Collie’s state-owned coal-fired power plants will be shut down by the end of the decade, and said WA had avoided the recent instability in power supply on the East Coast. partly because of its domestic gas. reservation policy.

“These power plants obviously don’t work all the time, but they provide critical power when the system is in maximum load condition and is in demand.”
