Manchester City may have already signed deals for Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, but they are yet to sign both Kalvin Phillips and Marc Cucurella, according to reports.
The city is known for getting stronger every season, and with its mega-rich landowners, they certainly have the means to do so. And they have not wasted time to finally select a long-term striker, after not replacing Sergio Agüero for the last two seasons.
Haaland has been signed by Borussia Dortmund on a £ 51.2m deal and Alvarez will arrive after paying £ 14.1m to River Plate. But they are not finished yet, as President Khaldoon Al Mubarak confirmed that there will be a “couple more” signings this summer.

After nine excellent seasons, Fernandinho is finally moving forward and City are reportedly looking at Phillips as a substitute. The Leeds United star has been heavily linked with his departure and has impressed since he was promoted to the Premier League with the Peacocks.
It is believed Leeds could demand £ 50m for the midfielder as they prepare for a Phillips and Raphinha summer raid. Leeds maintained their Premier League status on the final day, as Burnley suffered relegation, which is likely to complicate matters.

“Every season some players leave and we have to cool off. We’ll do a couple more. We’ll try to go as fast as we can, but it’s not always completely in our control.”
And it could be a tough summer, as not only Leeds are playing slow play. City have been linked with a move from Brighton Cucurella, which has attracted a lot of attention since signing last summer.
The Spaniard has already established himself as one of Brighton’s best players, having achieved his best results in the Premier League. And it is rumored that the City is testing the waters with an offer of 30 million pounds, with Oleksandr Zinchenko linked to a move.

City may be consistently dominant in England, winning four Premier League titles in five seasons, but they continue to suffer in Europe as they continue to pursue that crowning illusion in the Champions League. And they will need as much quality as possible to break the curse.
And Mubarak confirmed that they continue to aspire to the success of the Champions League every year, and their desperation to win the competition may influence their summer activity. Mubarak added: “We approach every season to try to win all the competitions.
“This has been the case for the last 10 years. It can’t be discussed in the last six years with Pep, we present all the matches with the whole intention of trying to win.”
