A man fights for life in hospital after being attacked by six strangers at Sydney’s CBD.

The attack took place in the early hours of May 23 on the corner of George and Liverpool streets.

Police said a 25-year-old man was involved in a physical altercation with six men he did not know.

He suffered a skull fracture and bleeding in the brain.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The six men fled the scene in a blue Holden Commodore, driving north on Kent Street.

Detectives have since set up Strike Force Stockdale to investigate the assault.

As part of their research, researchers have published images of six men they would like to talk to.

All men are described as Indian subcontinental in appearance.

The first man is described as tall, 180-185 cm, of solid build, with facial hair and short black hair. He is pictured in a blue water jacket and a blue and red Ellesse shirt and jeans.
