A man has been taken to hospital after a serious assault in West Belfast on Friday afternoon.
A man was reportedly attacked and beaten by two men with hammers or axes in the Upper Dunmurry Lane area shortly before 1 p.m.
The incident took place near a local primary school and a playground.

After the initial assessment and treatment, the man was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment of his wounds.
Danny Baker, MLA of Sinn Féin West Belfast, posted the incident on Facebook on Friday afternoon, writing: “People have had a serious incident on Dunmurry Lane, PSNI has an ongoing investigation.
“This is close to Our Ladys Queen of Peace Primary School. I would recommend parents to use the Twinbrook route and avoid Dunmurry Lane if possible.”
In a statement, he added: “The local community has been shocked by this attack which saw a man taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries. I urge anyone with any information to put in contact the PSNI “.
A PSNI spokesman said: “Detectives are asking for information following reports of a serious assault on a man in the Dunmurry area on Friday 10 June.
“At around 12.55pm, a report was received that a 30-year-old man had been assaulted in the Upper Dunmurry Lane area. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
“It is believed that two men carried out this assault and left the scene with a red Volkswagen Golf.
“Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and had any information, including a board camera or other images, to contact the police at 101 citing reference 758 of 10/06/22. “
