A man is in critical condition in hospital after being stabbed several times in a crowded downtown plaza.
Police were called to Yonge and Dundas streets around 7:23 p.m. to report a stabbing.
An adult male was later rushed to hospital with serious injuries, possibly fatal, Toronto Paramedic Services said.
Police later said he had life-threatening injuries.
The stabbing took place outside the crowded northeast corner of the Eaton Center while a crowd of people were enjoying the evening.
A yellow police tape cordoned off an area of the sidewalk outside the crowded mall and a broken bottle of beer could be on the ground in that area.
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident, police said.
Police are asking witnesses to contact investigators.
