Former Manchester United star Gary Neville has already revealed his “biggest fear” for new coach Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman has a huge job in his hands, and Neville has highlighted two current players who could make life even more difficult.
Neville has called on both Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes to leave United last season, and has even suggested that Ten Hag could get rid of him.
Gone are the days of glory for United, who used to be mentality monsters. And since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013, so has everything associated with United as problems continue to arise.
Despite giving David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho a chance to turn it around, United are the lowest they have ever been after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick shared the blush last season. And Neville thinks Ten Hag might have too many problems to solve before he can try to restore a winning mindset.

“Harry Maguire has gone from someone who grew up on the pitch during the Covid, to someone who now looks like he’s torn to pieces when he wears a red T-shirt. Bruno [Fernandes] It looks like half the player he was and the rest of the young players, because they seem to have lost their faith and want to get rid of them.
“That’s when you know something’s wrong with the locker room, the club and the management.” But while Neville pointed the finger at Maguire and Fernandes, he also admitted that everyone at the club is to blame for what happened.
“I don’t think you can dissolve anyone guilty,” Neville added. “Everyone is to blame for what happened.
“Everyone is optimistic when a new coach takes over a club, but I’m very cautious with my optimism. I don’t think there are many Man Utd fans sitting there thinking, ‘Wow, here we are!'”
