Manchester United have reportedly approached him to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone.
According to a report by L’Equipe, Manchester United are among the clubs interested in securing the services of Manu Kone. Borussia midfielder Mönchengladbach is facing an uncertain future for the Bundesliga club after a disappointing campaign, with Atletico Madrid and Juventus all others interested in acquiring his signature.
Manchester United have already begun contact with Kone, exploring the possibility of a summer transfer to Old Trafford. The 21-year-old is open to moving away from Borussia Park in the summer, especially given Gladbach’s mediocrity in recent years.
Prior to Paris FC’s youth academy, Kone joined the Bundesliga in early 2021. He remained at Toulouse for the remainder of the 2020/21 season before joining Gladbach last summer. In his first season in the Bundesliga, Kone made a big impact, becoming a figure always present in the club’s midfield unit.
The 21-year-old has impressed with his technical and ethical work skills in the middle of the park. Along with Christoph Kramer and Florian Neuhaus, he has helped Gladbach develop a solid second line of press and has played a key role in Bayern Munich’s defeat on more than one occasion.

But after Gladbach did not qualify for European football at any level, Kone could consider moving to another place in the summer. He has put Manchester United on alert, with Ralf Rangnick known for being a big fan of the Frenchman.
The German tactician, who will take on the role of head coach of the Austrian national team in the summer, is pushing hard for the acquisition of Manu Kone. He believes the 21-year-old has what it takes to help Manchester United rebuild the midfield under the leadership of Erik ten Hag.
With Paul Pogba agreeing to a three-year deal with former club Juventus and Nemanja Matic leaving in the summer, Kone could prove to be a vital piece of the puzzle for Ten Hag. The youngster could potentially become the core of a future Manchester United set-up, alongside Bruno Fernandes and possibly a new midfielder.

Kone’s aggressive style of play, along with his technical prowess, should help him bridge the gap between midfield and attack, ultimately improving Manchester United’s transition game. However, attracting the Frenchman from Gladbach will not be too easy, as the Foals will be determined to keep their midfielder next summer.
