Margot Robbie was ready to fight as Barbie on the set of the new movie about the titular doll. The 31-year-old actress filmed a scene where another actor (in the character) slaps her ass in Barbie’s new movie, and her rendition of the iconic toy doesn’t sink! Margot slapped the actor hard after getting her back on stage.

The scene shows the actor running behind Barbie and kicking her back on the beach. He was dressed in preppy clothes, including a blue button-up, Chinese shorts and a back cap. When Margot slapped him, his hat flew off. Luckily, it was clearly a scripted moment, and Margot was seen planning the slap (including measuring the distance between her and the other actor, and blowing up her hat!

Margot was dressed in a colorful pink dress, with a rainbow tie design, which matched the dress of her protagonist Ryan Gosling. The couple rolled in neon yellow skates along the beach, making them the perfect casting to play Barbie and Ken.

The scene is certainly exciting for the actual Barbie action movie. Margot has shaken up many iconic aspects of the doll in the published photos from the film so far. Not only has she glued the amazing Barbie dresses, but the film will also feature appearances from many places known to anyone who has grown up with the doll. In the first photos, Margot was driving one of the hot pink convertibles that can be instantly recognized by Barbie. While the details of the film are still unclear, another photograph showed Margot and Ryan dressed in cowboy suits (complete with a pink jumpsuit, bandana and a white cowboy hat).

Barbie is expected to hit theaters in July 2023. In addition to Margot and Ryan, she has a star cast, which includes Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, Kate McKinnon and many more. It will also be directed by Lady Bird author Greta Gerwig, who co-wrote the script with Marriage Story director Noah Baumbach for IMDb.
