Marilyn Manson has been the target of a sexual assault investigation for more than a year, but as the case draws to a close, detectives have found no solid evidence to nail the rocker … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us that there have been “some credibility issues with the victim” that have made it difficult to build a legitimate case.
Officers are about to present their findings to the LA County District Attorney’s Office, which will eventually make the decision, but it’s hard to imagine what they would charge without the property. Although we are told that the case will probably not be charged, this may always change if new evidence emerges.
TMZ told the story, Special Victims Unit detectives went down to Manson’s home in Los Angeles in November, executed a search warrant and confiscated media storage units, including hard drives.
Prior to that, police were investigating allegations of abuse, including allegations of locking women in a soundproof room in the house to punish them.
As we reported, Evan Rachel Wood, with whom Manson dated 2007, has made very public allegations of abuse against the rocker.
In a shocking lawsuit filed against Wood by Manson, he accused his former lover of writing a fake letter from the FBI, posing as an agent and hinting that he was under investigation.
Manson claims that Wood and a friend distributed the letter to other victims and members of the media to make it look like he was really in trouble.

In early 2021, Manson was visited by police and a helicopter was used to search his home after someone called a welfare checkpoint … so he has had a lot of interaction with law enforcement during the last year and a half.
As for the allegations, Manson has continued to deny everything and sources linked to his legal team say they have worked with investigators throughout the investigation.
