Marzocchi’s new Bomber Air shock absorber is slightly off

Marzocchi’s new Bomber Air shock absorber looks a little different. A little off. But for good reason. The iconic suspension brand built its new shock absorber to fit as many frames as possible and to be easy to adjust on the fly. Tilting the air tank just a little to the side helps achieve these two goals.

Sounds normal

… Mostly

Big shock, small bikes

As expected from Marzocchi, the Bomber Air is sturdy built. It has a DH rating for use with larger bikes for bigger hits. With the off-axle tank, however, it also brings that tough attitude to short-trip bikes. More and more short-trip bikes are being built for aggressive driving, such as the Norco Optic or the Canyon Spectral 125, and Marzocchi wanted to build a crash that would work for that as well. Thus, the Bomber Air is available in a variety of sizes, in Metric and Trunnion mounting options.

Great shock that fits in tight spaces

Large volume for better flow

Tilting the air tank allows Marzocchi to keep the Air Bomber with a high volume of shock. A larger volume of oil and an easier flow between the main body of the shock absorber and the tank, produce a more consistent performance in a wider range of functions, from small jumps to big bumps and long descents.

Easy-to-access compression settings allow you to adjust this performance even when you’re on the road. Like Marzocchi forks, the adjustment buttons are designed to be easy to access and intuitive to use, so you don’t need an engineering degree to get the most out of your bike.

If the levers do not offer enough adjustment, Marzocchi offers air volume separators in 0.1 CI increments. There are also dividers that reduce travel if you decide you want fewer bounces.
