McDonald’s adds the McPlant burger to the menu of select Victorian stores

After much speculation online, McDonald’s has confirmed the arrival of a popular burger in Australia. But there is a trap.

After days of speculation on social media, McDonald’s Australia has confirmed the arrival of the McPlant burger on its menu, but there is a problem.

Eagle-eyed customers saw the herbal burger, which was developed in conjunction with vegan meat substitute producer Beyond Meat and was previously unavailable Down Under, at Uber Eats last week.

Now, the fast food giant has revealed that McPlant has joined the menu, but will only be available at Victorian restaurants.

The burger includes a “juicy” vegetable-based burger made with peas, rice, potatoes and beets, combined with all the classics – tomato, lettuce, pickle and onion – a “mayonnaise” sauce, tomato sauce, mustard and a slice of American Cheese, all on top of a sesame seed bread.

However, for the burger to be truly vegan, diners must remove the cheese and mayonnaise.

“Macca’s is always testing new menu items and flavors as part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and choice,” a spokeswoman said in a statement.

“The McPlant offers customers another delicious menu option, along with their usual favorites.”

Users of TikTok World Vegan Guides tried the burger in a video on their own, considering it “legitimate” and “unreal,” though he added that he needed some “vegan tasty cheese.”

In the comments below the clip, people agreed, writing that Macca’s Australia “should bring vegan cheese and mayonnaise like the UK.”

“I want to try it really badly, but my Macca hasn’t got it yet,” one complained.

Another said the burger “has to come to Sydney.”

It’s not the first time McDonald’s has offered a vegetable pie: the Golden Arches tested the McVeggie here in 2020, which featured a potato, pea, corn, carrot and onion pie, before removing it from the menu in July. from last year.

Victorian guests can find McPlant at all 270 restaurants in the state, via the MyMacca’s and McDelivery app, from today through Tuesday, November 1st.
