Ryan Gosling has been photographed for the first time as Mattel Ken’s beloved doll as he prepares to star alongside Margot Robbie in Barbie’s real action movie.
On Wednesday, the Oscar-nominated actor was seen showing off his tanned, chiseled chest with a cropped denim jacket and bleached white hair for the role.
The first look at Ryan, 41, was posted by Warner Bros. through a tweet simply with the title of the film and a release date of July 21, 2023, which was previously revealed when they shared the first image of 31-year-old Margot as Barbie in April.

Ryan is known for his serious work as an actor in acclaimed films such as Drive, Blade Runner 2049, Blue Valentine and Half Nelson.
Wearing a cheesy smile and white underwear with his character’s name on it, Ken’s role seems to be a bit of a left turn for the actor.
No doubt Twitter seemed to agree when movie buffs headed to the microblogging site to react to Ryan’s stunning image showing his face face.
Little Women and Ladybird filmmaker Greta Gerwig directs the project and wrote the screenplay for the film with her longtime partner Noah Baumbach.

Awesome: The 31-year-old Australian actress looked absolutely iconic behind the wheel of a classic pink Chevrolet Corvette in front of what looked like Barbie’s mansion.
The film features a cast of stars including Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Michael Cera and Alexandra Shipp.
An IMDB synopsis of the upcoming film reads: “A doll living in ‘Barbieland’ is expelled for not being perfect enough and embarks on a real-world adventure. A live-action feature film based on the popular Barbie toy line. ‘
Margot has long been scheduled to play the world’s most iconic fashion doll in a live-action film, and in December 2020, she vowed to offer the audience “something completely different.”
First reactions: Fans flooded social media while responding to Ryan’s first glance
Opting for something “a little left centered” when it comes to his depiction of the Mattel doll, the project will be produced by his entertainment company LuckyChap whose motto is: “If it’s not af ** k, yes , is a no “. ‘
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the project, Robbie said, “Something like Barbie where the IP, the name itself, people immediately have an idea, ‘Oh, Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is.’
“But our goal is to say, ‘Whatever you’re thinking, we’re going to give you something completely different: what you didn’t know you wanted.’
Barbie’s live action movie will be released on July 21, 2023.
