Thomas Markle is “unable to speak” after being rushed to hospital, with his daughter saying, “We’re praying.”
Meghan Markle’s father has suffered a massive stroke that has left him “unable to speak”.
Thomas Markle, 77, fell ill in Mexico, where he lives, and was rushed to a hospital ambulance overnight.
His son Thomas Jr., 55, and his daughter Samantha, 57, were in bed last night, with Samantha explaining. The sun: “We are praying.”
The former Hollywood lighting director reportedly planned to visit the UK next week to see the Queen’s Jubilee.
Her separated daughter Meghan, 40, and Prince Harry are also due to come to the UK for the official jubilee celebrations.
Thomas Sr. was seen being taken to an ambulance in a wagon Monday night, local time, before being transported across the Mexican border for treatment in San Diego, California.
He was said to have lost his speech after the incident, which sources said after a mysterious health scare last week.
His blow was so severe that he could only communicate by dragging messages on a piece of paper, friends said.
Thomas Jr was with his father when he fell ill on the Mexican beach of Rosario, where he lives.
In a statement, Samantha said: “My father is recovering in hospital. We ask for privacy for the family, for their health and well-being.
“He just needs peace and rest. Goodness. We are praying.”
Meghan’s father lost his royal wedding four years ago after claiming he had a heart attack just days before he had to walk down the aisle.
Photographer Karl Larsen, collaborating with Thomas Sr. Remarkable friendship podcast, said yesterday he was in San Diego waiting to see it.
Larsen, whose podcast often serves as an outlet for Thomas Sr. explained his frustration with Meghan and Harry, he said: “Thomas Sr. thought he had suffered a stroke and was taken to hospital.
“She wrote on a piece of paper because she can’t speak right now.
“She lost her voice, I don’t know why, so she had to write it down and give it to someone she was with.
“He was barely present enough to write on a piece of paper.
“We had to leave for London to be there on Monday in the jubilee. Now everything is up in the air, I don’t know what will happen. I can’t see how this would go on.
“I was with Thomas when something very similar happened four years ago before Harry and Meghan’s wedding.”
A source said The sun Thomas Sr. had a medical scare last week. His relatives are believed to have been concerned about his health and especially his blood pressure for a long time.
When he met with The sun Earlier this year, the ex-smoker said his doctor had warned him never to smoke again.
