A Victorian mother has admitted killing her six-month-old baby boy.
Bao Tram Anh Nguyen, 37, faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday, charged with conduct that caused the death of her baby Spencer Jordan Recto in Mernda.
Spencer died in circumstances that amount to infanticide on May 20 of this year, court documents reveal.

Nguyen appeared remotely via video link in court, where he pleaded guilty to the charge of infanticide.

No further details about Spencer’s death were released in court and Nguyen remains on bail, with strict conditions including he cannot leave Victoria or Australia without police permission.
He will next appear in the Supreme Court for a directions hearing on January 23, 2023.
