Meta Platforms Inc. on Thursday said it was working on restoring Instagram, after thousands of users reported problems accessing the image sharing platform.
At its peak, more than 6,600 users reported problems with Instagram on Downdetector.com, which collects status reports on source interruptions, including user-submitted errors. The interruption may be affecting more users.
According to the website, 84% of reports reported problems accessing the Instagram mobile app.
“We are aware that some people have trouble accessing Instagram,” Meta said in a statement.
“We are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible and we apologize for the inconvenience.”
