Leslie Wayne was instrumental in the success of Metro Boomin. According to Metro, his mother sometimes drove him for eight hours from St. Louis to Atlanta so he could collaborate with the rappers he had met online.
It is clear that Metro and his mother were nearby. In a tweet a few years ago, the producer called her his “greatest inspiration.” No other details about his death have been released.
Metro Boomin has been incredibly busy this year. In January, Future shared a video of himself and Metro working hard in the studio. In March, Metro and Lil Durk confirmed that a collaboration album was on its way. He also collaborated with Gunna on his hugely successful Drip Season 4Ever, which included Drake, Kodak Black, Lil Baby and more. Metro has also talked about the YSL accusation that Gunna and Young Thug, among others, are locked up right now. In a tweet, Metro wrote: “Using song lyrics to accuse an **** s is a joke and a joke.
