MENOMONEE FALLS – Two people are seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle after the fireworks show at Menomonee Falls on Sunday.
Menomonee Falls police tell TMJ4 News that they were called to the Pick ‘n Save parking lot on Appleton Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. by an unknown number of people who were hit by a vehicle.
When they arrived at the scene, police found that two people were run over and had serious injuries. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Several agencies responded with assistance, due to the large number of people in the area for the fireworks.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and the accident is being investigated.
Authorities do not believe poisoning is a factor.
“It looks like it was a tragic accident and nothing more than that. But again, this is under investigation,” Menomonee Falls police captain Gene Neyhart said.
