Everton head further west, to St Paul, Minnesota, tonight for the second and final preseason friendly of their 2022 Tour in the United States, against the MLS Minnesota United team. It is being listed as one of the most important matches in MLS history as it is the first time the relatively young club has faced a Premier League team.
And the game has strong connections for coach Adrian Heath, who received the Everton North American All Star Award at a fan event at the Mall of America last night. Voted by American fans, the award praises the contributions of players, coaches and managers who have represented the club and are connected to the continent or come from the continent.
“I think I appreciate it [my time with Everton] more now. Because when you get stuck you just think it will continue and it always will. Minnesota United’s home ground, Allianz Field, which opened in 2019, has 19,400 spectators and the club itself has only existed for 7 years when it became the 23rd MLS franchise.

Frank Lampard will be without the services of Andros Townsend and Seamus Coleman, both recovering from injuries, while Asmir Begovic and Allan also missed the Arsenal match and remain in doubt.
The game starts at 19:00 CDT, which is the 1:00 BST on Thursday morning in the UK. It will be shown live in the US on ESPN + and will be broadcast live by Bally Sports North. Coverage begins at 6:30 pm CDT. Everton members outside the United States and Canada can stream it live through the club’s official website.

I just read the fine print of the tickets at the local end in Minneapolis and the outfits are not allowed, so I guess I’ll be wearing civilian clothes for the party.

You’ll find me, Mike, with the t-shirt from 2 years ago, but I’ll stand out because my 4 and 6 year olds will be fully equipped by my side. We will batter them or beat them.
There is no certainty with this current staff of sub-achievers. Obviously, Adrian Heath will want to beat his old team. I’ve seen Minnesota pretty much through the free sports channel. (Now, thanks to our beloved government, the channel is no longer available, thanks Boris.)
Hopefully we will see a structured sample of Lampard that shows us his tactical skills and gives us some ideas on how we will organize this season. Coyb.

Great to see Inchy and Sharpe back together. For me, the best front 2 I’ve ever seen together. I know other combinations scored more, but out of sheer joy in the eyes these two had it little by little. Were it not for this knee injury, Inchy would have been a well-known name in the 1980s.
As for the game, at least 4 zeros. I won’t say for whom, as this will spoil it.
