Holly and her biological family first met for the first time earlier this week, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children will facilitate a face-to-face meeting soon.
Her family last heard of Harold and Tina in October 1980 while living in Lewisville, Texas.
Harold had been beaten, tied up and gagged, while Tina had been strangled.
Holly, a creature at the time, was found nowhere and was classified as extinct for decades, while the remains of the couple were not identified until last year. The DNA was extracted by researchers, who found a match with Harold Clouse’s cousins in Kentucky.
First Deputy Attorney General Brent Webster revealed that baby Holly “was left in an Arizona church and cared for.”
Webster described how a couple of women “who identified as members of a nomadic religious group” took Holly to church.
“They indicated that the beliefs of their religion included separation of male and female limbs, practicing vegetarian habits and not wearing or wearing leather goods,” he said.
“The women indicated that they had abandoned a baby before in a laundromat.”
