Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki has stated that the next game From Software is nearing the end of development.
In a new interview with Japanese site 4Gamer, Miyazaki was asked about a previous comment he had made in a 2018 interview about having several games in development.
When asked if any of these parties were still underway, Miyazki confirmed, “Yes, it is. We are in the final stages of development.”
In the previous 2018 interview, Miyazaki had stated that since 2016 the studio had been working on “three and a half” games, the half game was the PS4 VR Déraciné title.
“There are 3.5 lines that have been worked on since then,” Miyazaki said. “0.5 is Déraciné, 1.0 is Sekiro and the remaining 2.0 are unannounced titles.
When asked to dig deeper, he said, “It’s not the right time to talk about it in detail, but I think both are typical games of us. It will take a little longer, but I think we can tell them one by one as they take shape.
In the four years since that interview, it was revealed that one of these games was Elden Ring, but the other has never been announced yet. Given his claims at the time, this unannounced new game looks like it has been in development since at least 2016.
It is believed that the game in question may be Armored Core 6, which was mentioned in a consumer survey earlier this year.
Resetera user Red Liquorice claimed in January that he had received a survey from the Elden Ring and Dark Souls studio, which appeared to reveal the first details of the upcoming unannounced dude fighting game.
The alleged unnamed installment, which would be Armored Core’s first full-length title since 2012, was said to feature a “science fiction world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki,” “three-dimensional, dynamic action,” and a “high degree of freedom.” in customization “. ”.
