Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah is set to join one of the Reds’ rivals in the Premier League in the near future if he does not reach a new deal at Anfield, according to reports.
The 29-year-old Egyptian striker is out of contract at the end of next season and lengthy talks over an overtime have not paid off. This has left Salah’s long-term future with Liverpool in doubt, although he enjoyed another stellar season at Merseyside.
According to The Athletic, the former Chelsea and Roma star has already thought about where he could go if he does not extend his stay with Liverpool. While he is a very popular figure among Anfield fans, the report states that Salah would have no qualms about joining another Premier League club in this scenario.

This is because his preference is to stay in England and therefore in the Premier League, rather than move abroad. It remains to be seen which clubs could pay Salah if a new contract is not agreed.
The rivals of the title, Manchester City, certainly have the financial power to achieve this transfer and the signing of the player would surely continue with the dominance of the national game. Chelsea and Manchester United are two other big players in the transfer market, but a change to the Red Devils, Liverpool’s bitter rivals, seems unlikely due to hostilities between the two clubs. Also, United cannot offer Salah Champions League football as it is.
While this latest update will raise concerns about Salah’s future with the Reds, he has already confirmed that he has no plans to leave the club this summer.
