The rider will hope to break his five DNF streak at the five Monaco Grand Prix he has competed so far in his career.

Leclerc’s Ferrari team-mate Carlos Sainz joins him in the front row, while Red Bull’s Sergio Pérez and Max Verstappen occupy the second row of the grid.

Schumacher’s car split in half

The race has been marked with a red flag after Mick Schumacher crashed into the pool area barriers in a terrifying incident.

Schumacher lost control of his car and his Haas car split in half, such was the impact of the collision.

Fortunately, he escaped unharmed from the incident.

A disaster for Ferrari as Red Bull sinks

Sergio Perez is now leading the race after Red Bull overcame Ferrari’s strategy when both teams decided to pit.

Carlos Sainz switched to hard tires, but strangely Ferrari also pitted Leclerc in the pits, which was a mistake as he opened the door for Red Bull to take the track position with a cut.

Leclerc was furious with his team after he went from leading the race comfortably to fourth place.

The race is finally beginning

After an hour’s delay due to rain, the Monaco Grand Prix finally begins in wet conditions.

Charles Leclerc leads the race, but the wet track is likely to cause some chaos at pit stops, as riders at the front of the grid are looking to switch to intermediate tires as the track dries.

The start of the race has been delayed

A bit of initial drama with the start of the race delayed just as the drivers were getting ready to leave when it starts to rain in Monaco.

The delay caused a pandeonium in the pits, as the teams rushed to change the tires to suit the humid climate.

The training lap will start behind a safety car.

Commentators are baffled that control of the race decided to delay the start of the race when the rain was only falling initially initially.

It’s raining a lot now and the race has been marked with a red flag before it started.

Pressure assembly in Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo will start from 14th position after falling in training and not reaching Q3.

Pressure is mounting on the Australian to work, with McLaren boss Zak Brown this week urging him to lift his game and hinting at a termination clause in his contract if his poor performance continues.

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, brother of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, said rumors about Ricciardo’s future at McLaren are only getting stronger.

“At McLaren, there is one or the other rumor,” the expert told Sky Germany.

“The rumors, as well as the statements to the team, are getting stronger. He is too far away from his teammate (Lando Norris).

“I am just curious about how the future holds. It will be very difficult for him. “

Schumacher added that accidents like the ones Ricciardo had in practice can start to play into his mind.

“If an accident like this happens to him … it will affect him mentally,” he said.

“If he continues as he is now, I will not see him at McLaren next year.

“It simply came to our notice then. It will really start in August or September at the latest. “

The race will start at 11 pm (AEST).
