A father and his teenage son have died after a car crash on the M1 on the Central Coast north of Sydney on Saturday morning.
Police said the 46-year-old father was traveling south on the highway with his 14-year-old son when his Commodore van got bogged down on the Kangy Angy grass strip, just north of ‘Ourimba, at 9 in the morning.

Moments later, a 27-year-old man driving past lost control of his four-wheel drive, which veered into the median and crashed into the van, police said.
Passing motorists, including an off-duty police officer, stopped to help the father and son, who were trapped inside the car.
The 14-year-old boy was already dead. Motorists and paramedics tried to revive the boy’s father, who had suffered a cardiac arrest, but he also died.
The driver of the four-wheel-drive vehicle, who was from Kurri Kurri, was not injured.
He was taken to Wyong Hospital for blood and urine tests.
NSW Police Chief Inspector Colin Lott said the circumstances of the crash were “extremely unfortunate”.
