Ms. Marvel EP shares the moment of the AvengerCon that did not hit the screen, also classifies the release

A Ms. Disney + Marvel, which premiered its first episode on Wednesday, Kamala Khan is the biggest fan of Captain Marvel. The teenager runs a superhero-themed YouTube series, makes his own cosplay costumes, and aspires to be his favorite avenger.

Kamala’s fangirling is familiar territory for lead writer and executive producer Bisha K. Ali, who admits that she fell in love when she was younger and therefore approached the culture of fans through a celebration lens.

“She was a nerd when she wasn’t acceptable and great … so I understand the passion and love of the fans,” she tells TVLine. “That was very important to us in building this show, that Kamala Khan herself is a fan. This is a show for fans and for a fan’s fantasy of being part of Marvel.”

“At one point, there was a guy dressed in a Korg cosplay (like Thor: Ragnarok) and he couldn’t get through the security barriers,” he explains. “This was in a very early draft that no longer exists.”

Ali also suggested a “winged horse” as in the valkyrie type “so we can represent everyone on the show,” but that didn’t come to the final cut either. “The first draft of the AvengerCon bananas, which will never see the light of day, had everyone,” he notes.

And while AvengerCon is still a fictional event in the series, Ms. Marvel hopes that one day it will be a real thing.

“I have written an email to [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin Feige, with our presentation on how we can make AvengerCon real in the real world, “he shares.” I haven’t sent it yet, but I’m like,
