Multiple shots fired at a vehicle south of Kitchener: Police

Waterloo Regional Police say several shots were fired at a vehicle near Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener on Thursday morning.

In a tweet posted at 5:39 a.m., police warned the public that there would be a large presence of officers in the Greenfield Avenue and Kingsway Drive area for the investigation. No injuries were reported.

Police said the incident appeared to be directed.

When CTV News cameras arrived around 8 a.m., a police tape could be seen around a small playground in the area.

A resident who lives nearby and did not want to appear in front of the camera told CTV News that there is a public walkway in the area that many people use.

She said there has been a lot of police activity in the neighborhood recently and she doesn’t feel safe letting her children play outside.

The incident in one of the two shootings on Thursday morning in Kitchener under police investigation.

No injuries were reported in both incidents.

Police said they are looking into whether the two shots are related. They say they will travel the two neighborhoods and a drone will fly over both places.

The incident involved several shots fired at a vehicle on the scene.

The shooting seems to be directed.
