Multiple suspects searched for a man shot in Scarborough

Toronto police are searching for several suspects after a man was shot dead in an apartment building in Scarborough on Wednesday evening.

Officers were called to 3847 Lawrence Avenue East, west of Orton Park Road, around 8 p.m., to report gunshots.

When they arrived, officers located a man believed to be about 30 years old in the back of the building who was suffering from life-threatening bullet wounds.

Despite efforts to save lives, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Insp. said Kristy Smith.

“It is too early in the investigation to give information (about the victim). I can tell you that his family has been warned and is very aware of what is happening with the investigation and what is happening and they are collaborating.” has said.

The homicide unit has been called in to investigate the incident.

Smith did not provide the exact number of suspects wanted. He added that they do not yet have specific descriptions of the suspects.

“Right now, we have agents making canvases in the neighborhood, acquiring those descriptions that would evolve into our research that we hope will lead to their identification,” Smith said.

When asked if the shooting was targeted or random, he said they have no information at this time to determine.

“None of us want to be here again because of these tragic circumstances in which someone loses their lives. But I can assure you that we are putting all our resources at our disposal to try to get to the bottom of this for the family and to give this peace to this community so they can live at home in their neighborhood feeling safe, ”Smith said.
