House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi has been charged with driving under the effects, causing injuries, following his arrest on May 28, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office said .
Paul Pelosi is also accused of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or more, causing injuries, the office said in a press release on Thursday, adding that Paul Pelosi had a blood alcohol content of 0.082%. Both charges were presented as misdemeanors.
According to the prosecutor’s office, punishment for DUI causing injuries as a misdemeanor “includes up to five years probation, a minimum of five days in prison, installation of an ignition lock device, fines and fees, termination of a driver drinking by court order. class and other terms as appropriate. “
Pelosi is expected to appear for an Aug. 3 appearance in the Napa County Superior Court, the district attorney’s office said.
The 82-year-old man was arrested May 28 around 11:44 p.m., and was charged with two misdemeanors at the time, according to records from the Napa County Criminal Justice Network.

The California Highway Patrol in Napa said at the time that units responded to a two-vehicle collision at 10:26 p.m. local time on State Route 29 on Walnut Lane. Paul Pelosi was driving a Porsche and was traveling east on Walnut Lane and attempted to cross the SR-29 when his vehicle was hit by a group traveling north on the SR-29 in a Jeep, according to the CHP.
Paul Pelosi’s bail had been set at $ 5,000 and he was released the next morning, according to records.
