Jonathan Kuminga and Mac McClung took their respective matches to another level on Sunday.
The NBA 2K23 Summer League 2022 takes place July 7-17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and the Cox Pavilion on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus.

LAS VEGAS – They finished the first weekend in the NBA 2K23 Summer League. These are the highlights of Sunday’s Summer League:
Mac McClung, Golden State Warriors
Mac McClung makes an incredible save.
Hey, this is the season of free agents in the NBA, in addition to all the summer action in the gyms on the UNLV campus. Therefore, it was opportune for Mac McClung to break it for Golden State immediately before the Los Angeles Lakers played on the same court.
It was just days before McClung, a 6-foot, 2-footer with two NBA experience games, played with the Lakers at the California Classic event in San Francisco. But he had to step off the bench behind other prospects and aspiring guards, so the 23-year-old from Georgetown and Texas Tech switched teams to get a bigger chance in Las Vegas.
The only thing McClung did was score 22 points on a 9-of-15 shot against San Antonio, with five rebounds, six assists, a steal and a blocked shot. He unleashed two of the crowd’s strongest moments with outstanding plays, including a pass behind his back at hypervelocity for a quick-breaking cube. And last season’s NBA G League Rookie of the Year dazzled players and fans with their energy, bouncing around and on the ground.
Jonathan Kuminga, Golden State Warriors
After a forgettable debut on Friday (four points, 2 of 10 shot), Golden State’s elite G-year sophomore prospect played this time with a Scottie-style touch Pippen. He scored 28 points with seven boards and four assists, and sank 10 of his 22 field goal attempts. He had five losses, a couple of bad decisions that tried to force the ball to center James Wiseman, but he showed both the size and skill that made the Warriors catch him at No. 7 in the 2021 Draft.
Keegan Murray, Sacramento Kings
Keegan Murray has shown balance beyond his years during the quality performances of the Summer League.
Murray has shown a silky 3-point shot so far and didn’t shy away from throwing it against Indiana, grabbing 12 and making four. But his intelligence in basketball was also evident when he counted. Murray’s cut along the left baseline in the last minute and Frankie Ferrari’s finding tray made Sacramento’s lead 100-96 and Murray’s free-kick added another point. to freeze the match. Cam Thomas, Brooklyn Nets

Thomas and his track partner David Duke Jr. (21 points) were combined for 24 points in the second half, the only two players in the game reached double in the last two quarters. Vernon Carey Jr., Washington Wizards
Carey, a problem with 6 feet of 9 and 270 pounds, was a double problem against Phoenix. Quentin Grimes, New York Knicks
It was not just his total points (24), but Grimes ’efficiency. The New York pitcher only used 14 field goal attempts and made a 4 of 9 ordered from beyond the arc and a 6 of 6 from the line. Teammate Jericho Sims had 11 points and 10 boards while the Knicks played with the Bulls.
Ty-Shon Alexander, Charlotte Hornets
A sprained right ankle had cut off Alexander’s night on Charlotte’s first day Friday. But the 6-foot-3 guard, who spent the 2020-21 season on a two-way contract with Phoenix, was eliminated any consequences by scoring 22 points with six assists and a 3-point accuracy of 4 of 9 almost. 30 minutes on Sunday.
