UAE teen Mahika Gaur has traveled through Nepal’s highest order to help eliminate the opposition for eight years.
The United Arab Emirates have secured a remarkable 10-point victory over Nepal in their Asian qualifier for the T20 U-19 Women’s World Cup, with eight of them in opposition on Saturday.
Nepal, who won the draw and chose to christen Bangi’s UKM-YSD cricket oval in Malaysia, threw with just 8.1 overs. Six players were dismissed by a duck, with Sneha Marasini scoring the maximum with three.

UAE teen Mahika Gaur, who was later named the match player, claimed 5/2 of her four overs, while her teammate Indhuja Nandakumar scored 3/6.
In response, the United Arab Emirates pursued the goal of nine races in seven deliveries: Captain Theertha Satish scored the maximum with four without coming out.
The unilateral T20 competition ended in less than an hour.
“It’s a great feeling for all the team members and gives us a lot of confidence for the next (three) games, but our job is not done,” Gaur said. BBCreported.
“We want to win all five games and qualify for the U19 T20 World Cup. Before the game we talked to coach Najeeb about where to shoot for pressure, it’s new ground and a port, so we kept it simple: bowl on the stumps.
“Captain Theertha and coach Najeeb instilled a lot of confidence in my ability, which gave me the confidence that I could do the job and limit them to a low score.”
Nandakumar continued: “We have planned a lot of this match and it has been a great team effort. Our training was good and we executed our plans 100 percent. “
It could have been worse for Nepal: in 2017, the Nagaland women’s under-19s were eliminated by two during a one-day match against Kerala in India.
And Nepal is by no means easy: at the start of the tournament, they defeated Qatar by 79 runs, scoring 3/117 of their 20 overs.
There are six teams competing in the Asian tournament, and the winner qualified for the T20 Under-19 Women’s World Cup in South Africa in January 2023.
