Netflix adds a warning to season 4 of Stranger Things after the Texas shooting

Netflix will issue a disclaimer in the new season of Stranger Things following the school shooting in Texas.

Netflix will add a warning card before the release of Season 4 of Stranger Things, following the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Seconds Varietythe disclaimer will appear to U.S. viewers when the series falls on Friday.

“We filmed this season of Stranger Things a year ago,” the warning card says, the outlet reports. “But given the tragic recent shooting at a Texas school, viewers may find the opening scene of episode 1 distressing.

“We are deeply saddened by this indescribable violence and our hearts go out to all the families who are mourning for a loved one.”

The streaming service will also edit the description of the first episode with a content warning for “graphic violence against children” and “disturbing images.”

Last week, Netflix posted an eight-minute preview Strange things before the premiere of season 4 Vol 1.

The first episode opens with a flashback scene depicting a massacre. The scene features Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) who used her telekinetic powers to kill people in Hawkins’ lab, including children.

The move comes after 19 children and two adults were killed by an 18-year-old gunman at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday. The suspect was shot dead by police.

The incident marked the deadliest school shootings in the United States since the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary killings, which killed 20 schoolchildren and six adults.

The new season of Strange things it will be divided into two parts. Volume 1 will be released on Netflix starting Friday, while Volume 2 will be released on July 1st.
