Netflix questions Meghan Markle’s “rating” as content given to Oprah “free”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry fell short with the interview with Oprah Winfrey, the royal expert says.
Speaking on the Australian program Sunrise, royal expert Angela Mollard criticized the Sussex couple for their 2021 interview with the host of the US program as they prepared to honor a multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix.
“In a way, they gave a lot of content to Oprah for free,” Ms. Mollard began.
“They’ve told him a lot of things. So what is Netflix’s exclusivity if they made a documentary with them?
She continued, “I think if you were the head of Netflix, you’d be thinking, ‘Am I making money with these two?’
“Expressing a couple of documentaries really isn’t cutting it.
“There has to be a lineup of brands and I don’t think that’s going to happen at this stage.”
It occurs when Meghan and Harry are caught in a “mess” with their “Netflix documentary about a fly on the wall,” a royal expert said.
