New Cooking Mama and Frogger games are coming to Apple Arcade

Apple Arcade returns three unexpected legends in June.

When I first came across Apple Arcade, I was a little worried. Not only did he not have the hardware to play any games available on the service, but he didn’t seem to have much content to look for. However, the library continues to expand, with the release of Warped Kart Racers last month, which made people say it was actually pretty good, and Gibbon is a beautiful, precious title that I would recommend to everyone.

For the month of June, Apple Arcade has announced three new titles, all from Japanese developers, two of the games are rejuvenations of existing series and the other is a new IP from the creator of Shenmue. Let’s take a look!

Frogger and the Rumbling Ruins (June 3)

Remember Frogger? The silly frog who loves to cross the road? Well, now it’s in 3D and crosses a lot more than roads. There are nice new characters and all sorts of new puzzle mechanics, and it comes after the other Frogger game in Apple Arcade, Frogger in Toy. People. Honestly? In fact, it sounds like a lot of fun, there’s not much else to say. I have loved axolotl all my life.

Cooking Mom: Cooking! (June 17)

Honestly, I’m a little tragic about Cooking Mama. I used to play it all the time on my Nintendo DS, and I remember being surprised and mortified at the news that Cooking Mama: Cookstar for Nintendo Switch was a bit of a failure. From unfounded blockchain connections to the developer taking legal action against the original publisher, everything seemed a bit messy.

Luckily, it seems that Office Create has returned with a new concept for Cooking Mama that had not been done before in the series. They explain it quite well:

Instead of selecting a recipe, players will first choose the ingredients, find a combination that works together, and then start cooking. The only way to know what is served with the selected ingredients is to cook it. Players will feel the heat as they prepare delicious dishes before time runs out in a series of fun mini-games that are simple and easy to play.

So it’s kind of like cooking for real! Creepy and open to disaster!

Air Twister (June 24)

Air Twister is an endless shooter created by Yu Suzuki, the creator of Shenmue. Play as a princess who has to fly through the air and shoot down alien beasts. The game looks very nice, and it looks like it will be an entertaining way to pass the time. Hope it didn’t cost as much as the other Suzuki games!

Of all three, I think I’m the most excited about Cooking Mama, but I’ll be looking forward to trying them all! You can sign up for Apple Arcade right here.
