A New York man who was arrested over the weekend for stabbing two people did so just a day after police caught him and then released him for brandishing a knife, according to a report.
Donny Ubiera, 32, who was arrested on Saturday after stabbing two people, one on Friday and the other on Saturday, was jailed for showing a large knife to police officers and later released from prison. jailed Thursday, the New York Post reported.

The wave of crimes in Ubiera lasted four days, culminating in his arrest on Saturday evening.

Police responded to calls from a man with a knife on Wednesday and found Ubiera refusing to release the weapon, the New York Post reported. According to the report, the man then fled from the officers but was arrested, detained and detained on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and a controlled substance, as well as reckless danger.
Ubiera spent the night in jail and was allowed to walk on Thursday for his “full time,” the media reported.

The next day, the suspect allegedly carried out an unprovoked attack on the first of the two victims, a 62-year-old man, whose face was cut off, the New York Police Department said.

The attack took place on train 7 south around 8:40 a.m., police said. Then Ubiera fled on foot, police said.

At around 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, Ubiera allegedly attacked a second victim on the platform of train line 7 heading north, police said. Ubiera allegedly pulled out a large knife, approached a 55-year-old man and stabbed him in the neck, New York police said.
He was arrested again, 12 hours after the stabbing on Saturday. He was charged with two counts each of attempted murder, assault and possession of weapons in subway attacks, police said.
Both victims were hospitalized at NYC Health and Hospitals / Elmhurst and are expected to recover.

The New York Post reports that Ubiera’s clashes with police include being accused of hitting a man with a cane in a bakery on June 8; removing a knife and threatening an employee who attempted to stop him from theft on January 8; four unique assaults on four separated workers on December 27, 2021; and, an incident on November 5 when he assaulted a person in a homeless shelter.
