For many seasons, the Atlanta Falcons have tried to tackle their defensive line. And for many seasons they have struggled to do so. In early July, the Falcons made a very good move, in my opinion, when signing veteran defensive tackle Eddie Goldman. Goldman, who is only 28, was ready to join a defensive line with Grady Jarrett, instantly creating a fascinating tandem.
That all changes now, as Goldman announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.
Veteran DT Eddie Goldman, who recently signed with the #Falcons, has informed the team that he will retire, the source said. The 28-year-old former #Bears standout played six seasons, plus the year of exclusion in 2020.

No official statement has been made yet, but after playing six seasons in the league, Goldman is hanging up the spots. The Falcons are now left with an inside defensive line group containing Ta’Quon Graham, Anthony Rush, Marlon Davidson, Vincent Taylor and Jalen Dalton, for now. A corresponding move may be made to add someone to the group.
Although Lance Moore lasted longer in red and black, we still wish Goldman a happy retirement!
